Official 1.1.3 Jailbreak fixed/re-released + Sync Fix (on Installer)

January 27th, 2008 | by Justin Nolan |

The Official dev-team jailbreak has been fixed and re-released. It is available to install directly from our Installer repo. Here is our complete guide:

1. You must be running 1.1.2 jailbroken. If you are on 1.1.1: install oktoprep, update to 1.1.2, and jailbreak. If you are on 1.1.3 already and want to start fresh: restore to 1.1.1, jailbreak (with jailbreakme.com), install oktoprep, update to 1.1.2, and jailbreak.

2. Install BSD Subsystem (version 1.5+ required). Set auto-lock to NEVER in preferences. Install SSH as a fail-safe.

3. Add http://www.modiphone.net/repo to your Installer sources. Refresh sources. Install “Jailbreak 1.1.3″ under Modiphone.net. This can take 20+ minutes. Your phone should reboot when done, and you will be in 1.1.3, fully jailbroken.

4. If you are experiencing syncing issues of contacts, events, etc, (with new or from the earlier jailbreak) install “1.1.3 Sync Fix”. This is also on our repo, under Modiphone.net.

Enjoy!

If you need help, feel free to ask in our new forums.

Important notes:
-If our repo is already in your sources, REFRESH your sources! The version number for the package should read 2.0.
-You need a good wifi connection. The script downloads the firmware from Apple which is very large.
-The script can take a long time, and will not always reboot your device when finished, for reasons out of anyones control. If you feel it’s taking too long, I would say 30+ minutes, go ahead and reset it. It should boot into 1.1.3.
-If it finishes and you are stuck in Recovery Mode, fear not! Simply run iBrickr and it will automatically detect and fix this. Again, this is out of our control. This is common with all updates/jailbreaks.

Is this after it finishes, and you quit installer? Try rebooting your phone? I had none such problems.

    At first: Great job!!

At second: I installed my 1.1.2 otb compleatly new (1.1.1 down –> 1.1.2 jailbreak –> 1.1.3) and because there were no contacts after sync I also installed the fix and it helped. BUT: My mail account is still not synced…any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Andreas

Andreas, I know it’s simple, but did you try rebooting your device after the syncfix? I don’t know what else to say… I don’t write these things. These are releases by the dev team. All I made was the Installer script for easier distribution. You may want to try running syncfix.sh manually via ssh so you can watch for possible errors.

    @Justin

Yes, I rebooted the device. Where can I find the .sh Script on the phone? I searched for via SSH over Wifi but I couldn’t find it.

    Thanks, Andreas

    @gorgont

I’ll post here if I’ll find a solution!

Didn’t work for me… Cleaned my 1.1.2 OBT 4.6 iPhone, ran the script and am in trouble. iPhone has to be restored using iTunes, iBrickr does not work.

I wrongly updated my OTB 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 via iTune. Though I have jailbroken 1.1.3 by using your method, the BB is still of 1.1.3. Is there any method to use my phone function yet. Help please

To everyone who thinks that he/she killed the phone via a broken update or a update via iTunes(-Restore):

    Don’t worry:

Install iBrickr and do so as if you’d downgrade to 1.0.2 but use the 1.1.1 fixed package you can find on several websites…if iTunes reports an error before beginning to write the old version on the phone iBrickr will help you to come over this step and the next try it’ll work.

Beeing on 1.1.1 again you can do the jailbreak, install oktoprep and update to 1.1.2…next try with 1.1.3 if you want to :)

I tried it many times with my 1.1.2 otb and it always worked. Even with totally corrupted update states :)

    Good luck!

PS: A tutorial for all “emergency”-cases is described here in German. I hope a online-translator can help or feel free to ask if you don’t know what to do: http://www.apfelmobil.de/2008/01/26/die-wichtigsten-fragen-und-antworten-zum-iphone-jailbreak-113/

seriously, you need to test things out before you distribute… the syncfix made my phone reboot indefinitely, then when I force reboot, i was stuck in repair mode or whatever the f*ck… remind me to never follow your instructions ever again.

wow, i have to redo this all over again . . . for the 30th… loverly.

you should change your site name to brickiphone.net.

Had trouble with sync, installed your syncfix. It did not fix it. New calendar events were not getting synchronized.
    Uninstalled your syncfix.

Then I installed it a 2nd time, and now my iPhone is rebooting springboard indefinately, just like all these other guys here.

    Not fun.

I went back to 1.1.1, jailbroke it, upgraded to 1.1.2, jailbroke that, and NOW THE CALENDAR EVENTS ARE STILL NOT SYNCIN! How crazy is that.

Does your syncfix do something to iCal on my mac? Why would the calendar events stop syncing even in 1.1.2???

    Hello,
I currently have my phone running 1.1.2 jail broken and unlocked.
I would like to install the dev team’s jailbroken 1.1.3, i am wondering if i will still be unlocked upon doing so, or do i need ot go back to 1.1.1 and run the 1.1.2otb unlocker?

The script created recursive file references when it created a series of links– the same thing happened to me. I had to SSH into my pod and I happened upon the script at /. When I read it, I nearly barfed. The things it was doing were pretty radical and frankly I can’t believe anyone released this script without a serious warning to the user first. Anyway, I found the links in mky directory system and deleted them. Suddenly my SB stopped refreshing and I could go in and start using my apps. I went in to look at my stuff and found many of my basic app prefs wiped out, Safari bookmarks, Contacts, etc.

I posted on this just today, here:
